At the combined age of 99.75 we decided to let Georges and Myrtle take us on our biggest peddling adventure yet. The plan is to ride from home in Rugby to l'autre chez nous vers Le Muy in Provence following the length and breadth of France. We will try to keep the journey updated along the way as best we can and as solar power feeds the laptop. Our draft route has a page link down the right side. Sunday 13th April - West Wittering to Portsmouth (If we are going to turn back now’s the . .)
Budge joined us on the early morning leg to the Crown and Anchor at Dell Quay (third puncture came en route but into a quick routine by now). Moriah joined us for lunch which included a final intake of English cider (just for something fresh in the mouth when it came to Brittany comparisons).
The sun shone brightly on a quick ride to Portsmouth and, we got ourselves ensconced at our usual pre ferry emporium. Slow loading for the St Malo ferry, not helped by arsey Boarders Staff - when did you last see cycle tourists removing panniers to be sent through a scanner? Pizza on board, Scooby on the top bunk, as we all prepared to ‘cruise’ not ‘sail’!
